Throughout this guided tasting, we will explore the key stages of whisky production, from malting to distillation, before turning our attention to the art of maturation, the true signature of a whisky’s character. We will take a particular look at Valais rye, a grain emblematic of the Alpine terroir, and how it shapes unique aromatic profiles, combining spicy, mineral and fruity notes characteristic of our region. A physiotherapist and winemaker from Valais, Alex Delaloye is a whisky enthusiast and runs a distillery with his wife. What began as a passion has since become a professional venture, producing « Swhisky », the first Swiss whisky, distilled in 2000, which combines local tradition with artisanal craftsmanship.
