This 5-hour hike offers a beautiful view of the Zinal Glacier. The route skillfully alternates between forest trails, pastures, and scree slopes all the way to the Cabane du Grand Mountet. Located in the heart of the Couronne Impériale, the Cabane du Grand Mountet serves as the starting point for various climbs.

| Useful information | Walk along the Navisence on either bank, then take the small forest road that climbs to the right at the far end of the Plats de la Lée. After about 30 minutes, turn left toward the bridge that crosses the Navisence. From there, take the trail on the right that winds upward above the moraine and continues along the Besso slope, offering a beautiful view of the Zinal Glacier. After crossing a footbridge and a section equipped with ropes and chains, there is still a long, nearly level scree slope to traverse before reaching the hut. |
