| Useful information | From the top station of the Tsapé chairlift, follow the trail that leads easily to the Pas de l’Illsee, which marks the border between French-speaking Valais and Upper Valais. Then head down toward the lakes. You’ll first pass by the Wäschtsee, then by the small alpine pasture bordering the Illsee, an artificial lake. The trail runs along the edge of the dam and leads to a small lake with crystal-clear waters and an island. A short climb finally leads to Lac Noir, where children love to play by the water’s edge, and older visitors can fish for trout (a fishing license is required). Tsapé is now only about a 15-minute walk away. |
