During this hike of a little over two hours, you will be immersed in the forest below Grimentz. Along the Grand Bisse at first, then, like a trapper, you will go up along the educational animal trail. Apart from a short steep section at the start from St-Jean, the path is very pleasant and enchanting. View over the valley floor.
OUR ADVICE
The early segment of the ascent from St Jean is steep. Caution is advised especially when the trail is icy.

| Useful information | Start at the post bus stop. Go down the communal road of the hives. At the end, take the path that first descends, then climbs onto the cantonal road. Follow the cantonal road on the left for about 100 meters, then take the small path that goes down towards St-Jean. Continue straight ahead following the bisse markings. Once at St-Jean d'En-haut, go up towards the ski slope, then follow the Chemin des Animaux which goes off to the left and leads back to Grimentz. |
