Walk along the Navisence on either bank, then take the small forest road that climbs to the right at the far end of the Plats de la Lée. Leave the trail leading to the Cabane du Petit Mountet, descend to the left, and cross the bridge. Take the path on the right and cross a second bridge. Then follow the path that skirts around Lac d’Arpitettaz and continues to the Cabane d’Arpitettaz, offering a beautiful view of the glaciers and peaks.
Alternative Route 1
The Pas du Chasseur shortcut, located at the far end of the Plats de la Lée along the right bank of the Navisence, is not recommended for people who are prone to vertigo, those accompanied by children, or those walking with a dog. The Pas du Chasseur is a small cliff equipped with chains that requires the necessary skills (1 hr 20 min—difficult)
Alternative Route 2
To reach the Cabane de Tracuit via the Col de Milon, take the trail that branches off to the right downstream from the Cabane d’Arpitettaz and follow it to the pass (1 hour). Then the very steep trail, equipped with chains (the shaded slope is often frozen or wet), descends to a large scree field. Check trail conditions beforehand (3 hours—difficult).
