Starting from the valley floor, the trail quickly climbs through a demanding ascent via Saint-Antoine and the alpine pastures of Ponchet to Chandolin. It then continues through Tignousa and the Weisshorn Hotel before reaching Zinal, offering breathtaking panoramic views all along the way.
Hiking the full route takes approximately 11 hours to complete the 31 kilometres of this emblematic course. For runners, however, it can be completed in around 6 hours.
The race record, set in 2019 by Kilian Jornet, remains truly remarkable: 2 hours, 25 minutes and 35 seconds.
