World’s Best Sommelier 2013 and Best Sommelier of Europe 2010, Paolo Basso is a leading figure in international fine dining.

He spent over twenty years working in top restaurants before founding Paolo Basso Wines in 2013, his own wine label in Ticino, Switzerland. There, he creates six cuvées in collaboration with his winemaker, including the iconic Rosso di Chiara.

The only non-French sommelier to select wines for Air France for ten years, he contributed to two “Best Wine List in the World” titles. Honored with a Doctor Honoris Causa for his commitment to wine and hospitality, he is now a teacher, international consultant, and host of wine events.
