Lowland farmhouse

Zinal - An authentic eighteenth-century farmhouse, furnished in the traditional style, illustrating daily life from the age of transhumance. An excellent way to immerse yourself in the days of old by exploring the different floors

The lowland farmhouse dating from 1768, is arranged in the form of a small museum. Inside, visitors can see ::

Upper floor : The furniture and everyday tools that would have been used by people of the period
The cellar : An exhibition of photographs dating from the end of the 19th century

Open to visitors in the summer only

Season :

July / August :

  • Every Tuesday at 15:00 at the end of the historical tour
    (registration required)

Off season :

  • Family or group visits upon request

The Friends of Old Zinal Association

The Association was formed in 1967, with the aim of protecting the heritage of Zinal. It manages the Old Peasant House in the Old Village of Zinal. The Association also has a film and a book with a spotlight on the past :

The film : Zinal Autrefois (Zinal in the old days) - a film retracing life on the Zinal mountain pastures through the four seasons
The book : Zinal, défi à la montagne (Zinal - the challenges of life in the mountains) - documents from the archives of the consortages (local council meetings), studies, interviews
