Post 10. Former Dairy
This building is an important element in the life of the past, when milk was essential to the farming economy.
Until the 1960s, at the beginning of the summer season, when cows were at the Avoin pasture ( above Grimentz ), milk came directly to the dairy by a specially designed pipe. An iron tool was knocked on the pipe to warn that the milk was coming. The sound reverberated to the dairy and the milk churns were placed so that they could be filled with the precious liquid.
