WE PASS THROUGH VeRCORIN TO ARRIVE IN THE YEARS TO COME!
From 16 May to 15 July 2022
From 16 May to 15 July, major safety work will be carried out on the road between Sierre and Vissoie to protect the cantonal road against natural hazards and to restore the Petits Pontis arch bridge. The road will be completely closed to traffic during this time.
Diversion via Chalais-Vercorin-Pinsec
During the two months of roadworks, the route from the Rhône plain to the Val d'Anniviers will be via Vercorin and Pinsec. From the plain, Chalais will be the temporary gateway to the valley.
There will be about 30 orange signs with the word “Anniviers” on them to guide you to the diversion route. You will need to allow for an extra 15 minutes of journey time.
Special PostBus timetable
The 11 daily round trips between Vissoie and Sierre will continue to run. Only the last runs on Friday and Saturday (9.10 pm from Vissoie and 8.45 pm from Sierre) are cancelled. The journey time will be extended by 30 minutes. The timetables of the four bus routes in the valley have been adapted to fit the train timetables and the secondary school timetables. There will also be two round trips between Niouc and Sierre (morning and evening) during the construction period.
Special opening hours for Niouc, les Pontis and Soussillon
For the villages of Niouc, les Pontis and Soussillon, access will be available at night, between 6 pm and 7 am, and at the weekend, from Friday 6 pm to Monday 7 am. Thrill seekers will be able to visit Bungy Niouc at weekends at the usual times.
