Guided visit of the village / Fang

Get to know a village through its people
Would you like to explore a tiny village overflowing with charm?

Guided tour led by Yvonne Jollien.

An important crossroads of several routes over the centuries, later practically deserted, this village’s residents have ensured its rebirth. Explore some out-of-the-way places, witnesses to the valley’s way of life. The chapel and a tiny museum in a house; the mill and the bisse (irrigation channel); the hayloft, the raccard (wheat store) and the communal oven – all important testimony to a bygone era.

Did you know that the site of the remains of the village of Tiébagette, just outside Fang, is a location for serious archaeological research?

Enjoy exploring the past and present stories of Fang in the company of a passionate local resident who really enjoys sharing her knowledge of village and valley with visitors.

Yvonne Jollien
A daughter of Fang, Yvonne will tell you how the village came back from obscurity. She puts the story across with plenty of passion and a desire to convey the times her family has lived through. The past truly comes alive in her company.
