Ice fall / Zinal
The ice cascade, illuminated in the evening by powerful spotlights, opens the doors to an unreal and enchanting world.
The ice climbing season is very short-lived. It starts at the beginning of winter and ends at the end of February, when temperatures are no longer low enough to guarantee maximum safety. Despite the seemingly simple movements, climbing these icy walls requires specific equipment and training. Well equipped and well supervised, all that remains is to savour the sensations provided by the ascent of the waterfalls of the Val d'Anniviers.
In addition to good walking shoes, gloves and appropriate clothing, the specific equipment includes :
• Crampons
• Ice axe
• Harness
• Helmet
