3. St-Luc: Rando Parc / Mars

Forest walk enthusiasts will be seduced by this route. The first part takes place in the freshness of the forest. Then a spectacular view opens up on the valley bottom, before a last small effort up to the Bella Tola hut.

OUR ADVICE
Information about the fauna
Welcome to these still preserved natural territories. You are indeed lucky to be able to explore environments rich in wildlife even in winter but which become particularly vulnerable during this season. The Black Grouse or Heather Cock, which lives at the upper edge of the forests between 1800 and 2200m, is one of these discreet species sensitive to disturbance, especially during the cold season.
During this period, it spends most of its time buried in the snow, digging an igloo that offers it relative protection. When disturbed, for example by the approach of a skier, it will flee—costly in energy—and by definitively leaving its refuge, it will be at the mercy of the cold and predators for long hours.
Strictly respect the marked route to limit disturbances in these refuge zones (edges and forests)
Also be discreet at all times, but especially at the beginning and end of the day, a period when the black grouse searches for food in the trees
These few rules of kindness will benefit all wildlife and with a bit of luck, allow you to admire, if not the distant silhouette of a black grouse perched at the top of a tree, that of a roe deer, a chamois, or a hare. Enjoy your hikes and wonderful discoveries!

Useful information

The walk starts near the ticket offices of the Forêt chairlift. Parking available. The route begins with a short but relatively steep climb, to the left of the ski slope, up to the road (blue slope). Follow the road in the forest for about 15 minutes. The hike then starts a climb that quickly reaches the mayens. Once out of the forest limit, follow the last straight line that leads to the Bella Tola hut.
