The Via Ferrata is located on the edge of the Navizence Gorge, beneath the Niouc suspension bridge. The Via Ferrata route itself is approximately 450 meters long. The Via Ferrata is located in a fairly exposed area.
OUR ADVICE
Given its D+ difficulty rating, it is not recommended that you attempt this via ferrata if you have never done one before.
| Useful information | After an initial climb that starts off slightly to the right along a crack, the route continues with a vertical climb up the face. The route then takes climbers on a long traverse to the left along a ledge. Toward the end of the route, a few sections are overhanging. After passing under the bridge, a climb with a few rungs leads out of the face. Once the via ferrata is complete, you can reach the valley toward Chippis on foot by crossing the bridge (5 CHF toll), or via Niouc. You can also take a bus from Niouc to Sierre. | |
