| Useful information | Follow the cantonal road toward Ayer/Zinal, then turn fairly quickly onto the narrow lane that branches off to the left and leads up to the upper part of the village, all the way to the Moulins stream. Cross the stream and join the small dirt path on the left. Cross the Rotzec Road and continue along the same small path. Once you reach the small mountain huts at La Tenda, cross the small wooden bridge over the old irrigation canal and continue to the paved St-Luc/Ayer road. Follow the road for about 100 meters, then take the forest road to the left. Continue following the signs for Gillou/Hôtel Weisshorn. Once at the top of the Gillou d’en Haut clearing, descend 100 meters to the left to see the geographic center of Valais (point d’équilibre), where the flag flies from the larch flagpole. Another hour’s climb to finally reach the legendary Hôtel Weisshorn. |
