Sierre > Chandolin, Poste by bus, then on foot to St-Luc via Chandolin
From Vissoie, take the bus toward Chandolin and get off at the Chandolin, Poste stop. The trailhead is located just behind the Tourist Office, heading toward Ponchet. Follow the forest road for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, then turn right at the bend and take this small path, which will lead you 200 meters further to the Illgraben viewpoint, a geological site unique in Europe. For the return trip, take the forest road and then the Chemin du Bisse. This will lead you to the Illhorn Hut, where a gourmet break is a must to enjoy a good cup of coffee and a pastry. Continue on toward Saint-Luc via the Plan Losier Alpine pasture. Follow the trail to the Par di Modzes picnic area, then make the final ascent—about 30 minutes—to reach the Bella-Tola Hut.
