This trail invites walkers to discover their history, how they work, and the major restoration projects carried out in recent years.
Eighteen interpretive panels along the Grand Bisse de St-Luc, the Bisse Roux and the Grand Bisse de St-Jean accompany walkers throughout the trail. Through accessible and illustrated content, they introduce visitors to the functioning of the bisses, their construction, maintenance, and historical and agricultural role, while highlighting the essential work of the bisse keepers.
This trail marks the completion of a major restoration project carried out by the Municipality of Anniviers in recent years. Restored to preserve this heritage and meet the current needs of agriculture, these bisses now help improve the irrigation of forage areas and provide a better response to periods of drought.
