Opening of the exhibition ISA ECKLIN - Traces of Jazz - Drawings

“In 2017, I returned to drawing after a break.
During the Jazz under the Stars festival in St-Luc, carried by melodies and improvisations, I sketch the musicians.
In front of them, traces of jazz appear on the paper.
I mainly draw living subjects: musicians in concerts, theatre actors in rehearsals, landscapes passing by during my journeys by train, car, or boat, and the nude model in the studio.
I rarely rework the drawings after completing them.
In my bag, there is always paper or a sketchbook, a pencil case containing graphite and watercolour pencils, and a water brush.”
