Dinner Theater: The Return of the Very Old Lady

Les Compagnons de la Navizence present "The Return of the Very Old Lady" as part of the FXB Observatory’s anniversary celebration.

A play specially written for this anniversary by Georges Meynet and Javier G. Nombela, directed by Cédric Jossen, a professional stage director, and performed by the Compagnons de la Navizence at the St-Luc multipurpose hall. A unique theatrical discovery, complemented by an optional meal prepared by the team at Tignousa restaurant.

The beginning of the story in two words…

A hypochondriac opera singer, a mysterious doctor, a journalist specializing in neurasthenic mules, a cheerful astronomer, a colorful priest, and an inventive, snobbish filmmaker are vacationing at the Weisshorn Hotel.

Josiane, the hotel manager, together with Zacharie, the somewhat rough head waiter, Aline, the chambermaid with literary ambitions, and Gaspard, a lovestruck mule driver, do everything possible to satisfy these guests who have come specifically on May 18, 1910, to be as close as possible to the elderly lady, the famous Halley’s Comet!
But what was meant to be an unforgettable moment turns into a source of worry – even panic – when everyone learns that Halley’s tail contains cyanide! Fortunately, the doctor has a weapon against these poisonous miasmas: his very own anti-comet pills…

A wonderful evening ahead and an opportunity to support the gems of Anniviers, namely the Chemin des Planètes and the François-Xavier-Bagnoud Observatory.
