Marion Lenoir Painting Exhibition at L’Épicerie de Chandolin
Marianne loved the Val d’Anniviers; she had a chalet there since the late 1980s. She didn’t often paint the mountains on large canvases, but rather in her many sketchbooks that accompanied her every day.
“Painting has always been my freedom, my survival… I cannot do otherwise than paint; it is my daily work, what allows me to move forward, to understand life and others. This journey, sometimes unpredictable and chaotic, shapes us and leads us step by step toward death… To paint is to dare to plunge into the unknown. The vertigo and joy of a blank page. I need this inner monologue to reach the essential… And the flower helps me drift, to cast off the anchors, to throw myself wholeheartedly into scents, tastes, shapes, and colours.”
