Cabane Illhorn – Deer Rut and the "brisolee"

In autumn, as the days grow shorter and the mountains return to tranquillity, a powerful cry echoes through the forests: the stag’s rut.

Accompanied by Louis, a guide and mountain enthusiast, set off at the end of the day to the heights of Chandolin for a hike to encounter the king of our forests. Treading softly, you’ll learn to spot the signs of his presence, gain a better understanding of his behaviour and, as night falls, listen to his bellow echoing through the mountains. After the walk, head straight to the Illhorn Hut to warm up over a ‘brisolée’ – chestnuts, cheese, fruit and cured meats!
