"Ascension" is a puzzle tale inspired by the historical character, Ernest Griolet (1819 – 1908). He was known to be a keen alpinist, archaeologist, and numismatist.
He was also a friend and benefactor of St-Luc.
Ernest had a dream: to build a lighthouse at the summit of Bella Tola. The lighthouse was to guide hikers and provide a shelter from which to admire the most magnificent sunrise. In the summer of 1866, Ernest organised a day of celebration to lay the lighthouse’s first stone. This game invites you to relive the ascent to the summit and to take part in the festivities carefully organised by Ernest! Your goal: solve a series of seven puzzles to unlock your reward!
How to Participate ?
After purchasing an activation code below, go to the funiculaire’s ticket office to collect your starter kit: an envelope containing the game rules, a map, Griolet’s journal, as well as various other illustrated items and props. Use the map to follow Griolet’s trail: each panel includes a section dedicated to the game.
Before each puzzle, log in to the online platform Localiz using your activation code. Historical characters will give you a clue to get started. Once you've solved the puzzle, submit your answer to continue the adventure. If you're stuck, step-by-step hint cards will help guide you to the solution.
If you need to cut your walk short, you can choose to finish the game in one of the participating establishments where a copy of the puzzle-panels will be available (depending on their opening hours). Please make sure to order at least one drink while you're there.
