Bivouac – 90 Years of SD St-Luc

Come bivouac by the shores of Lake Bella Tola and share a sunrise at the Phare de Griolet, 3,000 m above sea level, with an exceptional panoramic view.

Program:

July 31
2:00 PM | Meeting in front of Galerie du Raccard (exhibition presentation by Jean-Louis Salamin and welcome drink offered by the SD)
3:30 PM | Ride up with the funicular
5:30 PM | Bivouac, aperitif, picnic/BBQ from your own supplies, evening program

August 1
4:00 AM | Wake-up
4:45 AM | Departure for the hike
6:00 AM | Sunrise observation at the Phare de Griolet
6:45 AM | Return and descent
8:30 AM | Breakfast at the Bella-Tola mountain hut

Gear & Instructions:

- Hiking shoes
- Headlamp
- Warm clothes (e.g. down jacket for the evening – it can be very cold at that altitude, even in late July!)
- Rain jacket (K-Way)
- Sleeping bag and sleeping mat (the ground is rocky)
- Tent (unless you plan to sleep under the stars)
- Picnic for the evening + sausages or food for grilling
- Light snack (e.g. energy bars for the early morning hike)
- Plenty of drinks
- Trekking poles recommended
- Private liability and accident insurance required
- The game “Ascension” cannot be played during this activity.

The activity is supervised by trained staff. The Saint-Luc Development Society and the guides decline all responsibility in the event of an accident.
