Maison du Remuage

An authentic eighteenth-century peasant dwelling, furnished in the traditional style, illustrates daily life at the time of the migrations between the plains and the mountains known in French as the remuage.

The Maison du Remuage is a small museum. Dating from 1768, it is a typical example of a home from the past. Inside, you can visit :

- The upper floor: furniture and tools used in daily life at the time.
- The cellar: an exhibition of photographs dating from the late 19th century

The "Association des Amis du Vieux Zinal" (Association of Friends of Old Zinal)
The "Association des Amis du Vieux Zinal", which owns the Maison du Remuage, was founded in 1967. Its aim is to protect Zinal's heritage. The Association also offers 2 media that highlight the past

- A film: Zinal Autrefois - a film retracing the life of the mayen in Zinal through the 4 seasons
- A book: Zinal, défi à la montagne - documents gathered from the archives of the consortages, studies, interviews, etc.


Visits only possible in summer.
Free visit on Tuesdays at 5pm as part of the tour of the old village. Please register at the Zinal Tourist Office.
