Follow the Chemin des Planètes (Planets Trail) to the Le Toûno/ Chiesso alpine pasture. From there, continue in the small valley on the left, which runs towards the Col de Forcletta. On reaching the south side of Le Toûno, head to the left until you reach the lake.
1.
At the Lac du Toûno/Forcletta junction, turn off to the right and walk along the small ridge that contains the Col de Bella- Vouarda, from where you can plunge directly down to the Nava alpine pasture at Tsahélet. The Couronne Impériale with its five peaks over 4000 metres can be seen, hence the name Bella- Vouarda (“lovely view”). Return via the Sierre-Zinal path and the Hôtel Weisshorn, which is approached from the right from Tsahélet (4h - average difficulty).
2.
From Bella-Vouarda, continue towards the Col de Forcletta (altitude 2874m). The slope on the Tourtemagne valley (Turtmanntal) side is steep,
very different from that on the Anniviers side (from Bella- Vouarda to Forcletta, andreturn to St-Luc: 6h30 - average difficulty).
3.
Choose the German-speaking side for the return journey, planning an overnight stay in Gruben. Return to St-Luc the next day via the Col du Meiden/Meidpass to complete a superb circular hike (return via Forcletta and Gruben: 8h-9h / return via the Col du Meiden/ Meidpass from Gruben: 5h30).
