Conference - Anniviers: History and communication routes

Public lecture by Jean-Marc Caloz, a doctor with a passion for the history of the Anniviers region, organised by Anniviers R2 at the Zinal multi-purpose hall.

The Val d'Anniviers has often been presented as a closed place. Access from the Rhône plain is difficult. However, the oldest archives show that the people of Anniviers created a network of paths to make it easier for them to get around. This year, the landslides that prevented access to the villages highlighted the importance of improving access routes. Our speaker, Mr Caloz, a former doctor from Vissoie, will be guiding our steps and our reflections, on historic paths or asphalted roads, between past and present.
